Frequently Asked Questions
What is Tulsa Midwifery Group?
Tulsa Midwifery Group is a group of three tulsa midwives with individual practices working in collaboration with one another.
What are the benefits of choosing a midwife in your group?
By choosing a group practice, you will benefit from the added insurance of having multiple providers become familiar with your care and history. In the unlikely event that your primary provider is unable to attend your appointment or birth, you will be cared for by a back-up midwife who already knows you and who has been following your care. Group practice also insured that you have access to a trusted contact to answer your questions or help you with your concerns during the times when your primary midwife is not available (as sometimes happens due to the needs of another client or while she is attending to personal matters). Additionally, the midwives benefit from the fellowship and support of one another, as they are able to share their experiences, knowledge, and expertise with each other. Simply, group practice allows the Trimester midwives to provide you with more dynamic, comprehensive care.
Do I get to pick the midwife who attends my birth?
Absolutely! You will choose your primary midwife based on your personal preference. She will be in charge of your care and attend your birth. Additionally you will have the chance to meet the other midwives at one of our quarterly Meet the Midwives nights. They will be able to follow your care through our online charting system, Private Practice, and through periodic reviews so that they will be familiar with you if you ever need them.
How do I choose a midwife?
Visit the midwifes' websites and contact them to schedule a complimentary consultations, or attend one of our Meet the Midwife events to meet them all at once.
